Now in its 36th year, Gallery Genesis once again hosts the most-awaited Kulay Sa Tubig National Watercolor Invitational Competition in the search for the Next Top 5 Philippine Watercolorists from competing talented artists from all over the country. By bringing artists together in the name of watercolor, the prestigious competition perseveres in championing the beloved medium.

Watercolor is considered to be one of the most challenging mediums to master. Water in itself is unpredictable. Just as a small creek merges into a raging river, water itself has no master. But for the few who are able to do so, they deserve the honor and recognition. They have learned the balance between spontaneity and deliberation, and that each stroke must have intention. They are able to manipulate the shape and the flow of paint with precision and discipline and bring out its expressive qualities that provide glimpses into inner truths.

Those who have joined #KulaySaTubig have gained significant recognition as artists which led to the blossoming of their artistic carrers. In Kulay sa Tubig, those who have truly perfected the art and proven themselves time and time again by winning thrice have earned their name in the “KST Hall of Fame.”
